Palisade peach

(or How Guys Say They Love You, #5076)

Busy Friday. He had to see me.
Had something for me.
Nope, it couldn’t wait.

So he arrived, pulling a near-
perfect specimen of peach
from a paper bag,

accompanied, as is his way,
by printed documentation
about its Colorado origins.

A dozen ordered online,
delivered to his door, he had
to share one with me pronto.

“Because it’s ripe,” he said.
Just right for eating at this
end-of-summer time.

Sharing the delicious
is so him, which will
make the first bite

extra sweet, along
with every one
thereafter.

(Thanks, Dickie. You are, of course, a peach!)
